Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in the north and east King County, WA. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline and Sno-Valley (Carnation), we are the largest nonprofit organization in the area. Hopelink programs and services focus on five key areas: food, financial assistance, housing & family development, adult education & employment and transportation/mobility. Programs are aimed at helping people achieve stability, and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.

Hopelink has immediate openings for DART Community and Shuttle drivers throughout King County at our Kent and Kirkland, WA location. This position will operate days, evenings and weekends on a fixed route with a flexible service area.

Get paid while you train for a new career in driving!

As a subcontractor working with King County Metro, Hopelink will pay your wages and training onsite in preparation for your CDL Class C with passenger endorsement license. Applicants with CDL A/B/C passenger endorsements are encouraged to apply!

To be eligible, you must be...

  • Be at least 21 years old at the time you apply and able to lift and pull up to 40 pounds
  • Hold a valid Washington driver’s license, and have the ability to obtain a CDL Learner’s Permit with Passenger Endorsement
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience providing customer service to the general public
  • Have an acceptable driving record at the time of offer
  • Any of the following violations within the last five years will automatically disqualify you from consideration:
  • Reckless or negligent driving
  • DWI/DUI (driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs)
  • Hit-and-run incident
  • Vehicular homicide or vehicular assault
  • Open container citation
  • More than one “at fault” accident within the past year
  • Suspended license for moving violations
  • Reliable transportation to report on-time to work
  • Be able to speak and write in English
  • Verifiable acceptable work history and employment references

Summary: The Client Resource Specialist is one of the first points of contact at the Service Center’s Front Desk, and is responsible for warmly greeting and welcoming all visitors in a fast paced, often busy environment. They provide excellent customer service to clients, donors, visitors and staff, and are critical to ensure smooth operation of the center. This position requires the ability to multi-task, problem solve, be flexible, stay calm under pressure and deescalate issues when necessary. Must be comfortable working with individuals who demonstrate extreme or unpredictable behavior related to various kinds or crisis or trauma including substance abuse, mental health disorders, and/or homelessness.

Summary: Hopelink is in search of an Automotive Service Technician who is driven and brings a strong work ethic to the team! This position will perform work in the diagnosis, repair and service of automobiles, medium and heavy-duty trucks, buses and related equipment such as hydraulic systems, gasoline and diesel engines. Summary: Hopelink provides food assistance to mitigate hunger and support basic food security for low-income households in North and East King County. Hopelink aspires to be a leader in addressing issues of hunger by providing direct and impactful food services for members of our community who need food assistance, as well as by collaborating with other food providers in our service area to ensure the best possible benefit to clients and the communities we serve.

The Food Program Manager is responsible for implementing Hopelink’s vision for its Food Program system, in conjunction with the Associate Director of Food Programs.

The Food Program Manager is a key player in shaping and implementing Hopelink’s vision for food service and delivery in North and East King County by developing creative and sustainable methods of supply and delivery of healthy food, as well as implementing best practices for food support to our community. This position will also ensure consistency among our direct distribution sites, monitor progress toward well-defined goals, provide training and supervision of staff and volunteers, and oversee food purchases.

Summary: The employment specialist provides direct services to low-income individuals by assisting clients to prepare for the workforce through education, training, and job readiness preparation. This position supports clients’ employment goals by providing services such as individualized coaching, career pathing, resume guidance, interviewing practice, and non-technical skills development. The employment specialist conducts group training and workshops, both for Hopelink clients and other individuals as a part of Hopelink’s ongoing community outreach efforts. The employment specialist works collaboratively with employees across the organization and with outside businesses to ensure effective support for their clients.

Summary: Working under the supervision of the Employment Services Supervisor, the person in this position plays an integral role in supporting the employment and academic goals of our program participants.
Supports individuals with enrolling for education & employment services. Processes referrals, conducts intakes/orientations, and completes enrollments to maximize the number of clients served and ensure a positive experience. Enters enrollment data for multiple programs in accordance with program eligibility & security requirements. Collects client data to report on program outcomes. Coordinates with Community Services staff and other community partners for client recruitment.
The successful candidate will have both strong interpersonal and organizational skills and be comfortable learning and working with various computer systems. They will have a demonstrated history of working with people with diverse work styles and personalities. The candidate will enjoy working at multiple Hopelink sites and not mind traveling between sites on a frequent and regular basis. A priority for this position is a candidate who is comfortable working in areas of ambiguity, where collaboration as well as independent activity are essential.
