Since 1971, Hopelink has served homeless and low-income families, children, seniors and people with disabilities in the north and east King County, WA. With service centers in Redmond, Bellevue, Kirkland, Shoreline and Sno-Valley (Carnation), we are the largest nonprofit organization in the area. Hopelink programs and services focus on five key areas: food, financial assistance, housing & family development, adult education & employment and transportation/mobility. Programs are aimed at helping people achieve stability, and helping them gain the skills and knowledge they need to exit poverty for good.

Hopelink has immediate openings for DART Community and Shuttle drivers throughout King County at our Kent and Kirkland, WA location. This position will operate days, evenings and weekends on a fixed route with a flexible service area.

Get paid while you train for a new career in driving!

As a subcontractor working with King County Metro, Hopelink will pay your wages and training onsite in preparation for your CDL Class C with passenger endorsement license. Applicants with CDL A/B/C passenger endorsements are encouraged to apply!

To be eligible, you must be...

  • Be at least 21 years old at the time you apply and able to lift and pull up to 40 pounds
  • Hold a valid Washington driver’s license, and have the ability to obtain a CDL Learner’s Permit with Passenger Endorsement
  • Have a minimum of two years of experience providing customer service to the general public
  • Have an acceptable driving record at the time of offer
  • Any of the following violations within the last five years will automatically disqualify you from consideration:
  • Reckless or negligent driving
  • DWI/DUI (driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs)
  • Hit-and-run incident
  • Vehicular homicide or vehicular assault
  • Open container citation
  • More than one “at fault” accident within the past year
  • Suspended license for moving violations
  • Reliable transportation to report on-time to work
  • Be able to speak and write in English
  • Verifiable acceptable work history and employment references

Summary: The Community Services Food Program Coordinator II provides administrative support to management and program staff and coordinates program activities designed to help participants gain stability with food and other necessary items. Maintains a detailed understanding of program functions, policies, and procedures; serves as key contact person for program contracts, reporting and data.

Summary: Hopelink’s Mobility Management team empowers people to change their lives by facilitating access to the community. We do this by (1) supporting the coordination of special needs transportation through cross-sector collaborations to improve transportation services and (2) providing travel education and resources to build awareness of existing transportation options. We work to make it easier for all people to get around King County through innovative, collaborative problem solving.

The position provides staff support to key mobility management projects and initiatives and mobility committees as well as assists in the education and outreach of transportation resources. This position is funded through federal, state, and local funds and grants, and is contingent upon continued future grant funding. The Mobility Coordinator advocates for those who need transportation, facilitates discussion, teaches, connects, and partners with organizations to champion transportation solutions. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, self motivated, and posses a passion and interest in making an impact in the local community.
The position provides staff support to our transportation demand management (TDM) projects and initiatives for youth. The Mobility Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of the Youth TDM contract activities, including building an awareness campaign for the Youth ORCA card and other related transportation resources and services for students at public high schools in King County.
This project is funded through June 2019 with an opportunity for project extension and/or other projects on the Mobility Management team.

Summary: The Eligibility and Resource Specialist (ERS) meets with a high volume of clients one-on-one, determines client eligibility, and enrolls clients to receive Energy Assistance grants and Food Bank Services. ERS staff are responsible for entering data accurately and efficiently into our Client Track database. They provide excellent customer service to all who walk through the door and respond promptly to phone and e-mail inquiries. This position requires the ability to multi-task, stay calm under pressure and deescalate issues when necessary. ERS must be comfortable working with families and individuals that may be in crisis, suffer from mental illness, and/or are experiencing homelessness.

The Program Supervisor – Community Transportation position provides staff support to Community Van projects on behalf of Hopelink and in contract with King County Metro. The Mobility Program Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of Community Van activities, including outreach and education, marketing communications, volunteer recruitment and training, and trip scheduling. The Mobility Program Supervisor advocates for those who need transportation, facilitates discussion, teaches, connects, and partners with organizations to champion transportation solutions.
