Join Cooking Matters for a 6-week class and learn more about nourishing your body by preparing healthy, low-cost meals!
Cooking Matters is a national program that teaches participants to shop smarter, use nutrition information to make healthier choices and cook delicious, affordable meals. Class is team taught by a volunteer chef, nutritionist and assistant. Cooking Matters is a hands on experience where participants prepare two recipes together in class. Then each participant gets a free bag of groceries to practice their cooking skills at home. Topics covered include knife skills, food safety, meal planning, label reading and cooking techniques. Class meets for 2 hours each week for 6 consecutive weeks – if you sign up please plan on attending all 6 sessions.
